You don't need to apologize. No Christians ever ever need to apologize for the misguided sins of another. These people were out of the way in what they did. They can call themselves Christians all they want to, but doing what they did "against" sin was just as bad as the sin they were wanting to fight themselves.

This is despicable and inexcusable.

Man, I can honestly say that seeing the West family would have torn up even the toughest man in the world. It was one of those humbling events. The family shook all our hands. When his wife shook our hands it was hard not to have a tear in your eye.

This family is taking it roughly. And the threat from these wackos didn't make it one bit better. There were students from Berea College's neighboring university, EKU. There were some Lexington people there as well.

The Berea Police Chief (I believe he was Chief) gave us ground rules before we stood around the church. If they came, no instigating, they video tape those who instigate and those who talk to them and if they have to, get them for verbal assault. No touching them. Basically common sense. They let us use the police department to get coffe, hot chocolate, and yes doughnuts. They let us use the bathrooms there. They let us warm up there if we got to cold. And if they got under your skin, you were to go into the police department and stay there for a little bit to calm down.
